Where is the race?

For all race distances, Race HQ, start and finish will be at Ludlow Rugby Club, The Linney, Ludlow, Shropshire, SY8 1EE. Registration and parking will all take place here.

When is the race?

The race will be on Sunday 13th Juy 2025.

What distances are involved?

The event is a multi terrain run, comprising open roads, woodland trails and public footpaths. The distances are as follows:

Ludlow Half: 13.1 km run
Ludlow 10: 10km run
Ludlow 5: 5km run

(Please note, organisers reserve the right to alter the run course if necessary)

What are the race courses like?

Ludlow and the surrounding Shropshire countrside is well known for it’s narrow and hilly roads, as well as some stunning off road scenery, and we have made sure to include a number of these key landmarks.

All routes offer sections of quiet lanes, public footpaths and off road sections, including the Whitcliffe Common area. Here you can expect undulating ground combined with some interesting climbs and descents, in particular the challenging ascent of the Donkey Steps, an uphill section to rival the infamous Lactic Ladder.

How much does the race cost & How do I enter?

Race costs and entry details can be found on the How to Enter section. Entry to the race is online only.

Online entry is being managed by SiEntries.

What is the minimum age for entry?

Competitors for the Ludlow5 must be at least 11 years old on the date of the event.

Any runner under 18 years old be accompanied to and from a race by a responsible adult and have their entry form signed by a parent or guardian.

What age group will I race in?

There are no age groups, however there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in the open and male category for all three distances.

How does the registration process work?

Registration will be available before the race at Ludlow Rugby Club on Sunday 13th June 2025 only. Full details will be provided in the Athlete Guide, which will be emailed to you two weeks before the event. We do not send out race numbers or timing chips in the post.

Are there ‘cut-off’ times for the race?

No. We will not be imposing a cut off for the race. However if the race organisers feel that you are not in a fit and healthy condition to finish the race then they will inform you and their decision will be final.

What equipment is advised?

The routes are split, almost equally between sections of road and off road. Therefore we would suggest that a standard running shoe would be suitable, however if weather conditions are very wet then the forest section can become slippery, in which case a medium grip trail shoe might be more appropriate. We recommend monitoring the weather conditions in the lead up to the race.

Are there prizes?

Yes. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in the open and male category for all three distances.

What is the cancellation policy?

If for any reason you are unable to attend the race, there will not be a refund or deferral option, however, there is an option to transfer it to another competitor via SiEntries. The cut off for transfers is 28 days prior to the start of the event. The final date to be eligible for a transfer is 15 June 2025.

Can spectators watch the race?

Absolutely. The athletes will start and finish at Ludlow Rugby Club. The run course offers a number of sections where spectators can follow their athletes. For all races we recommend Whitcliffe Common and along Dinham bridge. Ludlow is a beautiful town with a host of shops and cafes to spend your time while the athletes are out there having fun.
